HADAF Center For Human Rights organized a roundtable session under the title " Volunteer work In The Palestinian Territories ", in the presence of Mr. Muhsen Abu Ramadan ( Community Activist ), and ( 35 ) female and male volunteer's within activities of its project " Promoting Youth's Rights And Civic Engagement ", funded by ( EU & NHRF ).
Mr. Muhsen Abu Ramadan spoke about the start of volunteer work in the Palestinian territories, stressing that this phenomenon is an old one started in the thirties and was known by " Assistance " when friends as relatives from youth category wired to assist each other in building homes, and farming . He added that this phenomenon was linked to the social dimension due to conditions of occupation, and seventies and terror, as it started in the end of the seventies and the beginning of eighties through student's blocs which established in Beer Zait University as the pioneer in this regard when it allocated ( 120 ) volunteer work the West Bank and Gaza Strip .
Finally he indicated the value of volunteer work as it is a part of the issue and community combination that consolidates commitment between individual and the national cause and community development, as there is a link between youth volunteers and the land they live on. |
